Data Deletion
Last updated: June 2026
If you have connected your Instagram account to SMIPA Creator Community, this page explains what Instagram data we store and how you can request its deletion from our systems.
What data we store
When you connect Instagram to SMIPA Creator Community, we may store:
- Instagram account ID and username
- Instagram access tokens (used to fetch insights)
- Audience demographics and insights data from the Instagram API
- Account-level insights (reach, views, profile views, engagement, and related metrics)
- Media and post performance data
- Instagram-derived profile fields (for example follower count and engagement rate)
Screenshot-based Silver verification data is stored separately and is not removed automatically when you disconnect Instagram.
Disconnect Instagram in the app
You can disconnect Instagram at any time from Settings → Connected accounts → Instagram in your SMIPA Creator Community dashboard. When you disconnect:
- Your Instagram access token is immediately invalidated and deleted
- Instagram snapshot data is removed, including audience insights, account insights, and media insights
- Instagram-derived profile fields stored from the API are cleared
Performance metrics already recorded for content you submitted to a completed campaign are retained as part of that campaign's performance record, shared with the venue you worked with. Your SMIPA account and any non-Instagram profile information you entered separately remain unless you delete your account.
Request wider account deletion
To request deletion of your full SMIPA account or other data not covered by Instagram disconnect, email us:
- Email admin@smipa.co.uk with the subject line "Data Deletion Request"
- Include your name and the email address or Instagram account linked to SMIPA
- We will process your request and confirm via email
You can also delete your account from Settings in your SMIPA Creator Community dashboard where available.
Automated deletion via Meta
SMIPA Creator Community uses Instagram Login to connect your Instagram professional account. If you have connected Instagram and wish to trigger automated data deletion through Instagram, you can remove SMIPA Creator Community from your connected apps:
- Open the Instagram app or go to instagram.com
- Go to Settings & privacy → Security → Apps and websites
- Find SMIPA Creator Community and tap Remove
When you remove the app, Meta will notify us via our data deletion callback and we will promptly delete your Instagram profile, audience, and insights data and access token. As with in-app disconnection, performance metrics already recorded for content you submitted to a completed campaign are retained as part of that campaign's record.
Our data deletion callback URL (for Meta verification):
https://app.smipa.co.uk/api/instagram/data-deletion
After Meta processes your request, you can check the status of your deletion at app.smipa.co.uk/data-deletion/status.
